Parenthood x Sustainability: How My Journey Led to Kiklos

Have you ever looked back on your life and realized how seemingly random experiences all fit together?

new parent journey

Growing up in Asia, I have adhered to the philosophy of embracing life’s adventures, wherever they lead. Little did I know, each step has taken me closer to this exciting moment: building Kiklos.

I started my career in the field of corporate social responsibility in Taiwan in an international humanitarian nonprofit, consulting with corporate partners and helping them build their social responsibility initiatives. Throughout the years, I grew interested in sustainability from a more comprehensive perspective, beyond the social point of view. Therefore, I transitioned to the corporate side, a telecommunication company, responsible for sustainability reporting which allowed me to understand how companies integrate their sustainable practices through the lens of ESG (environmental, social, and governance).

Then life brought me to the Netherlands. Having the characteristics of being active and innovative in the sustainability scene, Amsterdam quickly drew me into the world of circular economy. The more I learned about it, the more I felt all puzzles under the big umbrella of sustainability were pieced together. Since then, I have been a passionate advocate of circular solutions.

Three years later, life presented me with the opportunity for a new destination, Finland. This time, it was a more thoughtful move than the previous one, as we were expecting a new family member. The experience of starting parenthood in a foreign country and my long-time passion for sustainability reignited at some point in my parenthood and it was then I decided to pursue the journey of building Kiklos. I am excited to see where this chapter will lead me!

Kiklos is a platform that enables effortless parenting through the circular economy. Join us on this exciting venture and stay tuned for future posts where we'll delve deeper into the world of circularity, sustainable solutions, and family well-being. :-)
